In a very surprising move, Uttar Pradesh Government has started confiscating properties of all the identified rioters of the CAA protest which turned into a violent mob vandalism. This move of the Yogi Adityanath led BJP government of Uttar Pradesh is getting mixed reactions on various platforms.
People are supporting this move over social media. Chief Minister has already warned that any violent event will not be tolerated and strict action will be initiated against those involved in this violent protest. Yogi has also mentioned that the section 144 is already in action in the state, and those who will be identified for vandalizing public properties, will be summoned.
As per officials, Some shops have already been identified & process of legal action has begun in Muzaffarnagar. CCTv camera images have been used to identify the rioters. UP administration is identifying properties in their names. UP Administration has set up panels across violence hit districts
In an interesting event in Muzzaffar Nagar, a rioter named Inam Ilahi has been issued a recovery notice worth Rupee 707445/- which is huge.
The govt in UP is using CCTv cameras, mobile camera images to identify rioters. The govt has begin the task of attaching their properties/assets. The same shall be auctioned to recover cost of damage to public property in arson/vandalism.
